Twitch is one of the most popular digital broadcasting platforms in the world. In this context, many kinds of content can be broadcast on the platform, from games to music, tournaments to chats. However, there is a point where users complain.
Because there are broadcasters who try to make money by highlighting certain parts of their body under the label of obscenity on the platform. This is not viewed positively by some people. According to recent developments, Twitch has taken a step for this.
Twitch crackdown on exhibitionist streamers
Twitch, which has made a name for itself in the last few months with the controversy of obscene content, made a remarkable decision today. Accordingly, the company announced that it will literally put a stone in front of the broadcasters who make exhibitionism.
According to the statement made on Twitch’s official X (Twitter) account, broadcasts that focus on the intimate parts of the body will not be allowed for a long time. As of March 29, the platform will ban streamers who broadcast such content.
In the relevant statement made by Twitch, the following statements were made;
Our Community Guidelines are designed to help make Twitch a welcoming place. Content on Twitch is always evolving, and we want to make sure our rules work as intended and keep pace with emerging behavior. When necessary, we’re making updates to our rules to capture these changes in behavior so it’s clear to the community what’s allowed. Starting Friday, March 29, content that focuses on intimate body parts for extended periods of time will not be allowed.
